Hey Marseilles
Hey Marseilles is an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington.
According to the The Seattle Times, "...Hey Marseilles is a contender for a local rock band to break out in a significant way in 2013."
Elegy
We would like to resign somewhere along a wide mountainside
Sleep the street and sound of marching feet away or hide
We’ll give up on this town, the people who fill the air with their sound
Hear the noise of girls and boys abound. Rejoice.
I love you for your wit, not for the shit you spout in your dreams
Brace the ground and love you’ve finally found in me or leave
The wind won’t wait to blow you down
And leaves can change only so slow
So keep your legs on the concrete ground
The truth to find is in what we don’t know
Rio
Hey Marseilles was founded in 2006 by Matt Bishop and Nick Ward. The duo played together as students at the University of Washington, and were eventually joined by Ward's roommate Philip Kobernik. The three "used to jam at Gasworks Park in the summer and eventually made a few songs and started adding members from there." Hey Marseilles now includes six members, "with the instruments in the mix outnumbering the players."
Hey Marseilles released their first album, To Travels & Trunks, independently on 13 December 2008. It was ranked one of the best Northwest albums of the year. Seattle music blog Three Imaginary Girls said that it was one of their favorite ("if not [their] number one favorite") albums of the year.
Cannonballs
"To Travels and Trunks" was remastered and re-released nationally in the summer of 2010 in cooperation with Onto Entertainment.
The track "Rio" was described as "a worldly chamber-pop gem marked by a full-to-bursting, jauntily percussive sound in which seven people politely clamor to be heard."
Heart Beats
On March 5, 2013, Hey Marseilles released their second full-length album, "Lines We Trace".
Check them out.
Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). To many people in many cultures, music is an important part of their way of life. So it is for us: Enjoy our Panopticon of MUSIC. (And every kind of other art too. :-)

Half Moon Run
“I'm going to be cheeky here and pick one band […] Half Moon Run - potentially one of the most important bands debuting an album this year. It's progressive without being pretentious.” Ben Lovett, Mumford & Sons, in NME on Oct 3rd, 2012
Full Circle
Half Moon Run is a talented young band from Ottawa, Ontario and Comox, British Columbia. It was in a practice studio situated in Montreal’s Mile-End district, through the hardships of time constraints and flat-lined bank accounts, that the trio bonded and created their unique sound, fusing together the restless elements of indie, pop and folk with beautiful rhythmic harmonies, delicate guitar lines and a hint of warm electronica.
Unofferable
Armed with solid training and raw talent, they mix and combine their different musical backgrounds. Their complex arrangements, inspired by both classical and modern composers, are particularly striking to hear and see during their live shows. Devon Portielje’s remarkable voice is beautifully backed up by Connor Molander and Dylan Phillips. Phillips often plays drums and keys simultaneously as Molander and Portielje shuffle between guitar, keys, samplers, and percussion folky three-part harmonies hold down moody, psychedelic arrangements and electronic-infused soundscapes. They have recently welcomed a 4th member on stage, multi-instrumentalist Isaac Symonds, who adds his voice as well as playing guitar, keyboards and percussions.
Call Me In The Afternoon
Currently in the home stretch of an 18 month international tour alongside artists such as Mumford & Sons, Metric, Pat Watson and Of Monsters and Men, the international buzz has hit fever pitch, with Half Moon Run being deemed one of the "Top Bands To See" at SXSW 2013 and performing this summer at Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Reading festivals. Half Moon Run's debut album Dark Eyes, originally released in Canada by Indica Records in March 2012, has been picked up by Glassnote Entertainment Group who will oversee the global release of DARK EYES in 2013.
Nerve
The album will be launched in France on June 17th through Polydor records, in the United States on July 23rd on Glassnote Records and July 1st in the UK, on Communion/Island Records, and the rest of Europe on Universal.
No More Losing War

ACHTAVIERZG
Delay Trees are a dream pop group from Helsinki and Hämeenlinna, southern Finland.
HML
The band consists of Rami Vierula (vocals, guitar), Lauri Järvinen (backing vocals, guitar, synth), Onni Oikari (backing vocals, drums) and Sami Korhonen (bass, synth).
Their music is known for ethereal atmosphere and lulling melodies.
Tarantula Holding On
In 2007 a group of friends started to play slow songs together. This group was soon named Delay Trees and these songs formed the core of their first release, 2009’s minimalistic ‘Soft Construction EP’.
Future
‘Soft Construction’ opened new doors for the band with standout tracks such as ‘About Brothers’ and ‘Tarantula/Holding On’ spreading fast around the blogosphere. Blog buzz paved the way for a well-received self-titled debut album that saw daylight in September 2010 (early 2011 in Central Europe, USA, Japan).
About Brothers
After the success of the debut and intense touring around Finland and Central Europe, Delay Trees released ‘Before I Go Go EP’ in August 2011 before taking a short break from touring. During this break the band wrote and recorded new material for their dreamy second album ‘Doze’ which was released in the fall of 2012 via Soliti Records.

Watch out for them in a venue near you. If you get the chance: BE THERE. :-)

SIEBNAVIERZG
Orange Blossom Special 17
17. – 19. Mai 2013 in Beverungen
KoMa on Festivaltour.

Also flugs das Zeltchen aufgebaut. :-)

Freitagsprogramm:
17:30 – 18:40 EVENING HYMNS
19:10 – 20:20 STEAMING SATELLITES
20:50 –22:00 TREETOP FLYERS
22:30 – 23:45 SLIM CESSNA’S AUTO CLUB
Evening Hymns – Dead Deer
Steaming Satellites – Witches
Treetop Flyers – Things Will Change
Slim Cessna’s Auto Club – Three Bloodhounds, Two Shepherds, One Fila Brasileiro

Ja. Nörgeln zum Abschluss des ersten Abends. Kalt, nass, müde. Getting better on Saturday.
Samstagsprogramm:
11:30 –12:30 MICK FLANNERY
12:50 – 13:50 DANIEL NORGREN
14:10 – 15:10 THE FABULOUS PENETRATORS
15:30 – 16:30 CAROLINE KEATING
16:50 – 17:10 BOY DIVISION
17:40 - 18:40 SKINNY LISTER
19:10 – 20:15 WE INVENTED PARIS
20:45 – 22:00 NICK WATERHOUSE
22:30 – 23:45 DRY THE RIVER
Samstags morgens.
Daniel Norgren – Let Me Go

The Fabulous Penetrators – Invader Invader
Caroline Keating – Old Faithful
Wer‘s mag.
Boy Division – Can Your Pussy Do The Dog
Skinny Lister – Rolling Over

Eher ruhige Klänge ließen daraufhin „We Invented Paris“ folgen. Die sympathischen Schweizer („Ihr sind jo hurageile Siacha“), eigentlich ein Künstlerkollektiv, schaffen atmosphärisch dichte Indie-Pop-Perlen. Auch hartgesottene Rocker würden dies als schön bezeichnen. :-) Ein unvergesslicher Moment mit unplugged-Session mitten im Publikum.
We Invented Paris – Iceberg

Direkt nach WIP rockten Skinny Lister nochmals. Diesmal die kleine Publikumsbühne. Aber wie. Ekstase, Freude, Rumgedance und Mitgegröle. Alles war dabei. Herrlich.
Nick Waterhouse – Some Place
Und dann kam die Sonne. Jaaaaaaaaaaa.....

Hymnisch, klagend, melancholisch, befreiend, ausbrechend. Ein tolles Konzert.
Dry The River – New Ceremony
Is it getting better? NOW...
Enter Sunday.
Sonntagsprogramm:
11:30 – 12:40 surprise act
13:10 – 14:00 CROCOZEBRÁ
14:20 – 15:20 CHRISTINE OWMAN
15:50 – 16:50 TORPUS & THE ART DIRECTORS
17:20 – 18:30 THE DESOTO CAUCUS
19:00 – 20:10 THE FLAMING STARS
20:40 – 21:55 COME
22:35 – 23:50 BLAUDZUN
Herrlich.
Tadaaaaaaa...“Murder By Death“
Murder By Death - As Long As There Is Whiskey In The World

Crocozebra – Carthago
Christine Owman – Familiar Act
Also: Check them out!!!
Torpus & The Art Directors – Fall In Love

So und jetzt mal etwas weniger euphorisch. The Desoto Caucus – musikalisch sicher über jeden Zweifel erhaben.
The DeSoto Caucus – Live In The Stream

The Flaming Stars – You don’t always want what you get
Come – Thalia Zedek und Kollegen. Wahrscheinlich schon. Come fanden sich anlässlich des 20-jährigen Jubiläums ihres Debütalbums „11:11“ wieder in Originalbesetzung zusammen. Das Album wird auch neu aufgelegt. Live eine intensive, druckvolle Performance. Guitars are good. ;-)
Come – Cimarron

Blaudzun – Elephants
Was bleibt also noch zu sagen:
Fein wars, gerne kommen wir wieder. Ein familiäres, entspanntes Festival. Musikalisch eigentlich kaum Ausfälle. (Je nach Geschmack.) Das Wetter war teilweise böse. Aber was stand da auf einem Auto beim Parkplatz: „Et is wie et is!“
Genau. Also Motto: „WIEDERKOMMEN!“ und...

SECHSAVIERZG
The Shaking Sensations

Copenhagen post-rockers, The Shaking Sensations, initially formed to escape the confines of their small, desolate and windy town in western Denmark. Little did they know, that in doing so, the five-piece would build a reputation that would see them join a group of up-and-coming post-rock bands following in the footsteps of heavyweights like Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Home Is Where The Heart Is
Having released their 2010 debut EP, This Is Your Hellfire Region, the band experienced a sharp rise to prominence in Denmark due to the simple melodies that would lead the listener on a tranquil, dream like journey before culminating in a beautiful, often deafening chaos.
The Obsidian Sea
Debut album, East of Youth, encapsulates everything that is good about an over populated genre with tracks like “Our Hearts Were Young and Gay” featuring heart-wrenching guitar work throughout which, while sparse, conjures up a variety of reflective emotions. This is in stark contrast to album closer, “Homage to Boyhood”, which really defines the bands heavier side. The track also showcases why the band have opted for two drummers perfectly, both rhythmically and in terms of the sheer wall of sound they manage to create.
Glass Wings
Their new album, Start Stop Worrying, continues their way. Songs like “Anchors” or “Heavy Entity” are adventures for the listeners mind. Close the doors, darken up your room and dream yourself away.
Anchors
The Shaking Sensations have been touring extensively in both Denmark and Europe, sharing a stage with bands such as Caspian, Russian Circles, And So I Watch You From Afar, Black Math Horseman and Gifts From Enola.
Heavy Entity

Asgeir Trausti
Ásgeir Trausti (born Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson in 1992) is an Icelandic solo singer whose music is described as melodic folk. He performs with his own band Ásgeir Trausti Band. He also plays guitar in the Icelandic band The Lovely Lion.
Sumargestur
Ásgeir Trausti's debut album is Dýrð í dauðaþögn, the lead single from which, "Sumargestur", made number two on the Tónlist, the official Icelandic Singles Chart, followed up with the single "Leyndarmál" (six weeks at number 1 on Tónlist) and the title track "Dýrð í dauðaþögn" from the album (three weeks at #1 on Tónlist). His song "Hvítir skór" in collaboration with Blaz Roca stayed at the top of the Icelandic Singles Chart for 9 consecutive weeks in 2012 and 2013.
Leyndarmál
He may only be 20 years old but last summer he already made his mark on the Icelandic music scene with his two singles, Sumargestur and the smash-hit Leyndarmal. Both singles belong to his debut album Dyrd i daudathogn, released in September.

A digital presale on Icelandicmusic.com, a week before the release of the album, broke all records and showed clearly that Asgeir Trausti had already created a name for himself. Born and raised in the countryside of Iceland, Asgeir Trausti comes from a family of musicians. He trained on classical guitar but was aiming for a career in sports when he suddenly made a U-turn after being encouraged to take his music more seriously.
Hljóða nótt
He took his demos to producer Gudmundur Kristinn Jonsson and several months later his debut album was released in Iceland with great critical acclaim. The album has so far only been released in Iceland but an English version of it is in the making with lyrics written by American musician John Grant.
Heimförin
When performing, Asgeir Trausti’s friend Julius joins him on stage for the lighter version but for a full-blown version Asgeir Trausti is backed-up by a band made up of experienced Icelandic musicians, including three from reggae band hjálmar.

The Preacher & The Bear

Soundcloud
Elin Piel and Fredrik Pettersson started playing together in 2008. When deciding on their sound their diverse background in music somehow led them into the wonderful world of americana-, folk- and countrymusic.
Birds
In may of 2009 the Preacher & the Bear had their first show and it was then that Ebbot Lundberg (The Soundtrack of Our Lives) discovered the duos unique dynamic and melodies. Since then the Preacher & the Bear has had a continuous collaboration with Ebbot Lundberg and he is also one of the producers and additional musicians on the album. In spring 2010 Ebbot Lundberg played the Preacher & the Bear on Swedish radio. When asked to describe the band Ebbot Lundberg said that their music sounds like a mix between Nick Drake and early Simon and Garfunkel.
Deranged
The Storm Has Come.
That’s the title of Preacher and Bears upcoming second album. The album was released in February of 2013 raising the expectations on the Gothenburg folk pop duo.
Eat Some Beans
There’s been two years since they released their debut album “Suburban Island”, partly produced by the legendary Ebbot Lundberg from The Soundtrack Of Our Lives. Since then Elin Piel and Fredrik Petterson have taken their time to really emerge as a band. The playfulness heard on their debut is still there but the band has sharpened their knives and taken on a more radical point of view. The messages are more a smack in the face than a slap at the wrist.
Better Times
Still there are some tracks that completely hit you in the heart with stories of love and longing.

Samúel Jón Samúelsson Big Band
The Samúel Jón Samúelsson big band was originally formed in 2000 by Samúel for a set of live performances in Reykjavík. They play Samúel's original funk/jazz music.
Chicken Street
They released "Legoland", a live recording from their debut concert in 2000 that year and played at the Reykjavik Jazzfestival. In 2007 the band was reformed for a new record called "Fnykur" (old Icelandic word for something stinky, smelly or funky) featuring 10 tracks of original funk and groove music. The Samúel Jón Samúelsson Big Band has 18 members and is available for concerts around the world.

Ahoba Rodney
Samuel has since 1998 been one of leading members of the Icelandic funk unit Jaguar. The group has released three albums, has toured through Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and USA including gigs at Londons Jazzcafe and The Summerstages festival in New York. Apart from working with Jaguar, Samuel has worked as an arranger and session man for various Icelandic artists such as Sigur Rós or Mugison.
Felafal
Helvítis Fokking Fonk, their new album, is full of reminiscences of James Brown, Fela Kutis African beat or George Clintons powerfunk.
What comes to your mind is: Shaft walking down the streets of Harlem in New York City, quoting: “Don't let your mouth get your ass in trouble.”

The Great Park
Five of the all time favourite albums from The Great Park alias Stephen Burch.
Lambchop 'Is A Woman'
Josh T. Pearson 'Last Of The Country Gentlemen'
Bonnie Prince Billy 'Ease Down The Road'
Blind Willie McTell 'Atlanta Twelve String'
Damien Jurado 'And Now That I'm In Your Shadow'
Lover o Lover
So, from just looking at this list, which kind of music would you expect from Stephen?
Yep. You're close. :-)

"...this is a journey, a misadventurer's odyssey; it's vivid, it's elemental and the wounds are exposed. The road is pitted and merciless, stark and unyielding. The engrossing imagery will draw you in and repeated listening reveals new musical and lyrical nuances." (Nigel Johnson)
Portugal
Stephen Burch is an English songwriter currently based in Germany.
He began making music whilst living on a remote farm in rural Ireland - using acoustic guitars, the family's piano, brooms and chains. His lyrical, narrative songs bear the influence of the fields of County Cork and the old streets of Berlin. Images of persecution abound, songs of urgent travel and a search for home - the unifying theme is that of grave drama within 'The Great Park'.
I do wrong
Stephen has played over 150 concerts each year for the past several years - touring Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Denmark and the UK. He has released over 12 albums on the DIY label Woodland Recordings, a compilation through the German label Timezone, has provided music for several films and his songs have been covered on releases by Liz Green, The Sons of Noel And Adrian, Thirty Pounds of Bone and others.
When I was away
He likes rooms with echo, train journeys, trams and girls on bicycles.
Enjoy The Great Park always somewhere near you...

Something different for a change, seen on another website. (https://blog.tape.tv/2012/11/konzert-fotografiethe-moment-after-the-show/)

Ever wondered what artists look like after their shows? Swiss photographer Matthias Willi answers these questions in his new album/book The Moment after the show with pics of some well-known faces that sometimes really look worn out. Except for Kid Rock, of course. :) You can find some of them on his website - the other pictures there are also something to check out: http://www.matthiaswilli.ch/photography.html. I hope your browser doesn't start acting crazy after you had a look at the photographs - mine does! So I'm off...enjoy!

Will And The People
Will and the People are more than just a band. They are a way of life. Living, rehearsing, being together, who are on a journey beyond the realms of conventional popular music. Will and the People have percolated into the gaps of the live music scene in the UK with their own unique sound, honest and fresh…
Lion in the morning sun
The band have naturally created their vibrations through a shared vivacity for all types of music… Though they will proudly state their main influence as being Bob Marley and his Wailers, the sound they make is thoroughly theirs, eloquently glistened and scattered with tones from many corners of song world.
Yellow
“Our music seems to have become a security for some people, which tells us we are doing something right and it is worth pursuing confidently as we are… there is nothing better than knowing it effects people… except maybe watching them dance in the moments… we know that love is to share”
Salamander
On top of this the band are just completing the final preparations for the release of their second album ‘Friends’, with the single Holiday a fantastic up beat song with a honest ska groove.
Holiday
With constant requests to come and play in various countries including Italy, Germany, Romania, Brussels, Switzerland, France, there just arn’t enough days in the year. Believe me, if they could, the band would be playing a gig in a different city, different country everyday.
(Taken from their homepage) :-) Hope they don’t mind.

Loosegoats
At LastFM
Sweden – a country where moose and bear greet each other.
And it produces a large amount of great bands.
Loosegoats is a Swedish lo-fi rock group formed in 1994 by Christian Kjellvander, Johan Hansson, Jens Löwius and Mårten Löfvander. They released their first mini CD, Small Lesbian Baseball Players, in May 1995.
Days Of Black (Nights Are Lights)
The group disbanded in 2001.
They reunited in 2009 for three gigs and released a new album in 2012.
By some standards it would be fair to call it a proper comeback. But when Loosegoats released their first album since 2001 it felt more like a reunion with a dear old friend.
Disdialogic
With “Ideas for to Travel Down Death’s Merry Road” Loosegoats starts exactly where they ended in 2001. The musical base is still alt-country and Americana. But the atmospheric soundscape is so packed with strong pop melodies that “Ideas for to Travel Down Death’s Merry Road” most of all is this year's best soundtrack to a trip down the highway.
